Thinking Of You

Hii all! How are you? So todays card uses the following die sets:
the Calabria set from the Italian Collection, the border from the Spanish Collection and the Classic Rose die set.
Here is the card:

I stamped my sentiment from the Bold Sentiment set by Creative Expressions in black archival ink in the upper corner of my coconut white card.  I used another piece of coconut white and embossed it with the Extra Confetti folder by Couture Creations and cut one side on the diagonal, adding it to the bottom of my background.  I cut a border from the Spanish Collection, backed it with white and then matted it with a thin black mat.  I taped it on the diagonal between the two background sections and trimmed the edges.  Next I cut the Calabria die from the Italian Collection in black and then cut it down the centre.  I glued the halves above and below my border but offset them.  Using the Classic Rose die set, I cut several of them in both black and white in a variety of sizes with the decorative insert piece.  I cut a slit to the centre in each of them and folded one section behind so it turned them into five petals instead of six.  I curled the petal edges and added pearls to the centres of each of them, giving you yet another style of flower from this very versatile set. I assorted them across my card diagonally, slightly overlapping some of them.  I added some black rhinestone swirls as embellishments.  I finished the card with a bit of black and white matting and a double white pierced mat.  Finished dimensions are 8" x 8 1/4" in size.

Happy Birthday!

Hi guys! So here's another post for today. I hope this one will put you in the mood for the weekend ahead with its bright colours!!
So here is my card.....
So bright and cheery....isn't it! So again seeing the Lulupu Challenge #26 i made this card using my new Classic Rose Die, Butterfly Stamp from Justrite and Adirondack inks.
So i started with a piece of Coconut white card and inked it three Adironadack inks-Citrus, Wild Raspberry and Purple Twilight. The Adironack Brights are more vibrant than the distress inks and that is why i decided to use them instead of the distress inks. I applied them to the card using a piece of Cut 'n' dry foam and just did dots of colour all over the cardstock. Once I was happy that i had saturated the card with lots of colour, I dried it well with my heat tool. This is a very important step so do make sure that it is very dry before proceeding. I even rubbed it with my anti-static pad to remove any hint of moisture that may have been left. Next i inked the Butterfly stamp from Justrite stamps using a clear Perfect Medium pad and stamped it thrice, making sure not to overlap them. I embossed them with white powder (this must be the first powder you used). Next is stamped the butterfly again in the same manner, but aimed for the open areas more. You can overstamp the white butterflies and this isn't a problem because this time, we are clear embossing it. If you do the clear embossing first, then the white powder will stick to it and ruin your piece. If the clear sticks on top of the white, it isn't an issue. You end up with a lovely texture look from the clear embossed butterflies, almost a ghost kinda image. I then decided to stop here as it was just too pretty. I adhered it to the thin mats of white and black. I made a flower using  Classic Rose Die from my new die line and 'sugared' it with Iced snow. I seated it upon some white tulle and added black jute bow(i love bows). On vellum, i stamped my sentiment 'Happy Birthday' from Justrite Vintage Rose set using a clear Perfect Medium pad and heat embossed it in white. I cut it into a strip whit a forked end and tucked the other end under my flower. To complete the card, I made a couple of stick pins using beads from my craft stash and did some matting with piercing using both black and white cardstock for balance. Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.

Here are some close-ups.....

Hope this one would get you into a cheerful mood, ready for the weekend ahead!!
All for now....

DETAILS ABOUT THE WHITE ROSE.

The rose is a Classic Rose Die from Creative Expressions.  It is made by stacking the die cuts in decreasing order(from the bottom to the top). And then i curled the edges. I even die cut the leaves from the same die. Then i glittered the flower with Glitter Jewels Iced Snow from Creative Expressions. Below are a few pictures ofthe iced snow.

And the die cut (this picture is not mine, i took it from net to show the proper packaging.)

Sweet Card

Hello bloggers! How are you all? So today i am back with a 'Sweet Card'. Hahaha.....Funny name...right?
So here's how it looks.....
And according to the lulupu challenge in which we were to try something new. I used my new Tufted Background by Justrite Stamps and Distress markers.

For making this card i started with the Tufted Background by Justrite Stamps and inked it with a clear Perfect Medium pad. I stamped it onto a blush card and heat embossed with white powder. Using the matching Labels Seven die, I cut an aperture out of the centre. I used Victorian Velvet to give a bit of shading to the edges and added mounting foam to the back. I stamped the Hydrangea label in Black Archival Ink on blush card and cut it out with the matching Vintage Labels Seven Die as well. I coloured the flowers using Victorian Velvet Distress Markers. and stamped my sentiment "You're so sweet" in the middle of the label. I matted the background with a thin black mat, which left recessed area for my label shape to be glued back into the centre. I cut some flowers using the Majestic Morning Stamps and die and layered several of the flowers to use as accents. I added them to the card in cluster with some foilage cut in white and added a black jute bow. I added some Iced Snow to the foilage leaves. I finished the card by adding 3mm flat back pearls to the cross lines. The final touch was a pierced mat layer with blush and black layers before adding my fianl white mat. Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7 3/4" in size.

Here are some close-ups of the finished card.....

Scraping With Scraps

Hi all...So today I am back with a wonderful, super-duper easy card which anyone can make for any occassion!!
So here's my card for today.....

For this card you don't need any kind of die-cuts or stamps or embossing pastes or tool...Yup you heard right you don't need any of these things!

What you require for making this card is-
  • Scraps of PP or Cardstock-

Most of us always have some scraps of papers lying around, so this is the best time to use those. And if you don't have scrap paper lying around, then you can also use magazines with designs and coloured papers in it.
  • Basic Stuff

Basic Stuff includes- pencil, eraser, ruler, exacto knife, self healing mat, a black marker or you can even use any type of coloured marked which you like.
  • Adhesive

I used foam adhesive and a glue stick.

And thats it so lets start making our card.....
  1. Cut your PP into strips of different sizes.
  2. Glue them horizantally or vertically (whatever you like the most when arranged).
  3. On another medium sized scrap paper, cut a shape(i have cut a rectangle and snipped off the edges) and write or stamp whatever sentiment you like (i prefered writing the sentiment).
  4. Then from the left over scrap, cut out another shape according to the occassion you are making card for (i cut a heart) and color the shape if you like.
And thats it!!

Lulupu Challenge #22

Hii Crafters! How are you? So today i am back with a wonderful card!!!
So here its is.....
Keeping in mind the Lulupu Challenge, I made this card. It uses 3 ingredients-
  1. Die Cuts
  2. Embellishments
  3. Patterned Paper
Here's how I made it.....

I started with the Lavish Corner Stamp and using the Picket Fence Distress Stain, I dabbed it all over my stamp and stamped it on a black cardstock. If you take any other colour card, it would look like a watercoloured background. I also left a little margin of black card around the stamp so it looks like it is mated. Then I cut it into three strips and mounted over a piece of white cardstock.
Next I stampd my sentiment 'You are on my mind' from the What Defines Us stamp set and also used the pretty flourish under it. I cut it out with the Vintage Labels Six Die set. I cut a frame for it using two sizes in the Vintage Labels Five in red cardstock. I cut an inside frame for it using the next size down in the set and cutting it from black cardstock. I then mounted it over the sentiment using foam adhesive.
For the flowers i used tissue paper and topped each of them with a black pearl. Using black twine, I made a loop and glued them together make a bow knot. Then I took a cream cardstock which is embossed with mini flowers and using needles pierced holes in it and rubbed sandpaper on them, so as to secure them.
Then finally i adhered the full structure on my cream cardstock using my foam adhesive.
I am not so good at photography, but still managed to get a few close ups....

Its all for now,
Hope I inspired you with today's post and i will see you next time!
Happy New Year.

Welcome To Scraps and Stamps

Hii all...Welcome to Scraps and Stamps!! I am Sukanya, a 13 year old kiddo who likes to craft. I love making cards and i always look for new craft techniques.
I read thousands of blogs and it all filled up my mind for having my very own blog. The blog which inspires me the most is Lulupu-The Caft Lounge. It is an awesome blog. She even organizes challenges and the prizes are totally cool.
So moving on to my post....for today i created some quilled flowers and pasted them on one of my files.
Some close ups......
On the upper edge.
On the bottom edge.
And for the spirals i just used a green quilling strip and curled it partially.
Hope you like it!
